This is a repost of a review I wrote last month AND a GIVEAWAY!!!
Not too long ago I received a copy of The Money Saving Mom’s Budget by Crystal Paine. I’ve been a reader of MoneySavingMom for quite some time now and really looked forward to reading her book.
I found a few surprises in Crystal’s book. Have you ever thought clutter could be causing you to overspend? Hmm…hadn’t really thought of that before…but it’s so true! So glad I got started on my Decluttering kick last year….I do believe it’s helped.
In Chapter 2 Crystal talks about eliminating clutter from your life. I’m not just talking about the clutter around your house, but the clutter in your personal life also. Take me for example, I am always feeling like I’m behind…I’ve committed to too much….my list goes on and on. I’ve been taking Crystal’s advice from Chapter 2 and I’m be streamlining my life so that I have time for what really matters.
In this book you’ll also find out how to set up the dreaded “B” word…a BUDGET. Crystal lays it out step by step how to create your budget. She makes it look so easy and I read and re-read this chapter a couple of times. I liked that she suggests building up to a full-blown budget…she breaks this down in to a 3 month process. It’s gradual and not such a shock to the system.

I write a budget each month… but I feel like there’s so much more to budgets then I really understand!
Budget – but just a very general high level one. I’m sure we could save even more if we stuck to a more exact one!
We’re in between I try to set up goals & a budget but it doesn’t last. I hope there is a chapter on how to get your husband on board.
